Co-wives of two hospitalised in Two Abuja after taking herb to s3xually arouse their husband who married third wife

Two co-wives from the Dakwa community in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have found themselves in a serious situation after consuming a herbal mixture intended to spice up their husband’s interest in them. This incident comes shortly after their husband took a third wife.

The herbal concoction, known as ‘kayan mata’ in Hausa, is often used to boost s3xual desire in men. According to reports from Daily Trust, the two women, whose names have not been disclosed, took the herbs just three days after their husband, Musa Muhammad, married a new wife from Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State.

Musa confirmed the alarming news, stating that both wives were rushed to a clinic in nearby Madalla, Niger State, where doctors found that the herbs had caused damage to some of their organs. They underwent surgery and were discharged a week later.

Musa explained that the herbalist who usually supplied them with the liquid version of the herb had given them a different powdered form this time. He recounted how he was alerted by his first wife that the two women were in distress while he was spending the night at his new bride’s place.

“When I got there, I saw them rolling on the ground, writhing in pain. I first called a nurse from the community to help, but when there was no improvement, I took them to the clinic in Madalla,” he said.

Musa also mentioned that efforts were underway to track down the herbalist for investigation, hoping to prevent others from falling victim to her potentially harmful products.

Dr. Taiye Anifowose, a gynaecologist, has issued a strong warning to women against using such herbs, highlighting the risks they pose to their health and reproductive systems in the long run.
